Our Story.
“After co-organizing an event with Noble Prize Laureate Professor Daniel Kahneman, and asking him about the intersection of his ground-breaking work on biases and negotiations, students from all around our community asked me how to learn more and get involved in behavioral economics.
As we thought about the way we want to build a behavioral economics community on campus, my co-founders and I realized that we are not only passionate about studying behavioral science but also about applying such insights to solve real-world problems. We decided to focus BSG’s work on three areas:
1. Consulting: help companies and startups to solve the behavioral problems they face.
2. Education: organize events and conferences with world-renowned scholars and leaders to explore the intersection of behavioral economics and pressing challenges.
3. Applied Research: connect researchers to organizations with an academic research related mission and allow professors to implement their research in the real world.
Under the leadership of our academic advisor, Professor David Laibson, we hosted events with prominent academics, including Harvard Law Professor Cass Sunstein, the co-author of “Nudge” and former White House Advisor, and worked with companies, including Laguna Health, a digital health company helping patients recover better after hospital discharge.
Our mission is to create a community of students, academics, business, and political leaders at Harvard and beyond, who are committed to applying insights in behavioral economics to solving real-world problems.”

Consulting
We work with companies and organizations to research and solve their business challenges. Some groups we have collaborated with include Topgolf, OakNorth Bank, and the Behavioral Economics Team of Australia.
-
Education
Our conferences and lectures connect world-renowned scholars and business professionals to our students, highlighting the widespread applications of behavioral insights. In the 2021-22 academic year, two of BSG's board members interviewed Cass Sunstein. We will hold our first annual conference featuring industry-focused panels in the spring of 2023.

Applied Research
Our Applied Research Team Partners connect Harvard and MIT researchers to companies and nonprofits with a mission that is directly related to scholarly research. These partnerships allow professors to test their research in the real world, and companies to implement these research insights and improve their performance.
